"Test Tube Baby" vs. IVF
Are you confused about the difference between a "Test Tube Baby" and In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF)? There is no medical difference between them at all. The only difference is the terminology.
The phrase "test tube baby" is a non-medical layman's term that was commonly used decades ago because the embryo was formed outside the body (In-Vitro) in a fertility laboratory, rather than inside the woman’s fallopian tube (In-Vivo).
As modern medical technology has advanced, this outdated term is gradually diminishing. Today, the precise, scientific term In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is the global standard.
What exactly is IVF?
IVF is an assisted reproductive technology in which a female egg is retrieved and mixed with male sperm outside the body (in a petri dish in our advanced fertility lab). Once successfully fertilized, the resulting embryo is carefully transferred into the woman’s uterus to establish a healthy pregnancy.

Who benefits from IVF?
In-Vitro Fertilization is one of the most highly successful forms of assisted reproductive technology. It is designed to manage complex medical and health issues, successfully assisting:
Step-Wise Techniques & Process
Our clinical protocols are meticulously designed to maximize your chances of a successful conception using your own linked genes.
Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation (COH)
The cycle begins with ovarian stimulation. We utilize precise protocols—ranging from letrozole to exogenous gonadotropins (FSH and LH). GnRH is often used to prevent premature ovulation. Once optimal suppression is achieved, regular injections recruit multiple follicles. Development is strictly monitored via ultrasound and hormone assessments until lead follicles reach the appropriate size.
Final Maturation (HCG Trigger)
Once the follicles are ready, the final maturation of the eggs is triggered by the administration of an HCG injection. The timing here is critical, as the eggs must be retrieved exactly 34 to 36 hours after this injection.
Oocyte (Egg) Retrieval
Performed in our advanced surgical suite under IV sedation, mature eggs are retrieved using ultrasound-guided transvaginal aspiration. Our embryologists instantly scan the follicular fluids to locate all available mature eggs, placing them in special culture media inside an incubator.
Standard Insemination
In the fertility lab, 50,000 to 100,000 motile sperm are transferred directly to the culture dish containing the retrieved eggs. If the sperm parameters are normal, this standard insemination process allows natural fertilization to occur outside the body.
